Sem break!

Woohoo.
The name of the blog title speaks it all #partyemoji

I have to say, it was such a relief that sem 5 is over. Say goodbye to all the crazy amount of assignments! (insert delighted emoticon here)
As usual, I have already planned out what I want to do this break. Well... those stressful days during exam were really effective to distract you to plan something ahead to keep you excited you know.. hahaha. Anyway, here are some bad habit/activities that I'd like to avoid this coming February.

1) Sleep and wake up at a totally unhealthy hour.
-totally nope nope. I had insane, horrible nights of insomnia last August and I don't want to repeat that kind of life again. It sucks, to the max!

2) Skip breakfast following 1)
-Ugh man, this is a totally no no too right? Needa give some love to my dear organs now.

3) Do nothing
-Of course, you can do nothing at times BUT don't utilise too much of your time to totally 'do nothing' at all. Don't get too relaxed or too lazy. It's not good.

4) Sitting (hunchback posture)
-It's not a nice sight to see two additional lines on my tummy hence (perhaps) regular 'exercise' or daily sit up to replace prolong hunchback posture.

5) Spending too much money.
-Save, save. Save for the future. Save to buy your favourite things!

6) Unproductive days
-Sem break is supposed to make you chill and relax but do not take it for granted. Do some work, make your brain and body active!

That's about it I guess. To be added if I think of more. Right now I gotta sleep, peeps.
Ciao!

xx

Story of my life #1 ;

#asanursingstudent

Note : A lot of medical jargons are used here. I'm afraid you will not understand what I am saying here unless you google. It's okay if you skip this, but if you insist on reading, you're welcome to!

Semester two ;
One word to sum it all : BASIC.
All my first time was dedicated to these 10 precious weeks of postings.

Vital signs, bed making, bed bath, perineal care, subcutaneous injections, blood glucose monitoring, giving oxygen therapy, disposing urine, recording I/O chart, TPR chart, dengue chart, positioning, assisting patient in activities of daily living, handwashing and so much more.

For my first 5 weeks at PD,
I had familiarized myself with procedures like bed bath and perineal care because in PD, you get plenty of those procedures (during my time) because there were quite a number of bed ridden patients. We also have came across patients who are morbidly obese (it was stated in the case notes :B ) and I was always very scared to take blood pressure from them because either the cuff cannot fit or the machine will give no reading. Heh, but it was manageable after that.

Of course, there was a lot of frustrating moments especially when we did things "slowly" and made a lot of mistakes although we had been reminded several times. :(
But all of us managed to buck up and remained positive throughout the posting.
I still remember there was one time this patient was suspected to have MERS coronavirus and I didn't know it. I took his vitals in the morning without wearing any P.P.E. (personal protective equipments). The moment I knew when the staff nurse informed me...

I was like, holysh*t, sh*t, sh*t. What should I do now??

After the unnecessary worries, the patient was finally ruled out from having MERS.
The instant relief within me... Phew! *wipe sweats*

Lesson learnt : ALWAYS know patient's diagnosis/conditions/underlying conditions before attend to patient!

Then for another 5 incredible weeks at Seremban, we also did more or less the same thing.. just that it was way busier at HTJ's medical ward. Time passed very fast there and I was glad to learn many valuable lessons during my tough-stressful time there :)

I had my second and third (and probably fourth) time giving subcutaneous injection at HTJ. Needless to say, I was very very nervous because giving people injection was my fear and I had to face it and conquer it.
Thanks to Ms. A, (although trembling) I had the most strict yet the best guidance under her and strangely speaking, I am not afraid anymore :)

In PD, five of us got the chance to observe abdominal paracentesis and also insertion of internal jugular catheter whereas in Seremban, we managed to look at how a catheter was placed for peritoneal dialysis and also how last office was done by the KKM students. My first time again, and I already felt the coolness being in the hospital! Hahaha #whatnoobyusuallysays

Honestly speaking, I tend to get excited easily when I heard any new conditions. In semester two, Steven Johnson syndrome, psoriasis and eczema sounded really new to me, believe or not I once thought that patients who have eczema can easily spread to other people by contact. But after some thorough research, I knew that I was wrong. #whatnoobysays

Haha, after ten weeks of postings, 6 working days a week, I must say that I was very glad to be back home! Prolly I can't stand the life - the life of having only one day of weekend. /sobs/
Don't know whether I can still move on and get used to the life in the upcoming sems.

-Fast forward-

Semester three ;

Hey ho!
In this semester, we have learnt more in depth about what we learned in semester two.
*Condition
*Pathophysiology
*Investigations
*Treatment (Medical and Surgical) including medications
*Nursing care/responsibilities
*Health education

The systems we learned were Respiratory system, Cardiovascular system, Haemopoietic system, Gastrointestinal system and Endocrine system.
It was pretty hectic but we made through all these five systems and I'm proceeding to semester four (tomorrow), woohoo!

So during clinical posting (or hospital attachments) at dear HTJ,

First day at medical ward : Orientation. Briefing. The environment of the hospital surprised all of us. New curtains, the floor is somehow cleaner and more sparkling than before. Things are neater! I have to give two thumbs up for the major improvement :)

Second day : Observation of BMAT (Bone Marrow Aspiration Trephine) procedure O_O

It was pretty traumatizing for me. I simply can't imagine how the patient felt that day. I'm sure it was a horrifying experience for him too.

Week two, third day : Observation of liver biopsy done by a specialist, a nice and kind hearted doctor :))

The rest of the three weeks : I had my first try on NGT (nasogastric tube) feeding and removal. I was lucky to get to carry out one of the blood transfusion procedures in the ward.
Not to mention, I had plenty of chances doing ECG at cardiac clinic. Ohh, there were a few echocardiography and stress tests for us to observe as well :) Then the normal routines (which I practised in semester two) was carried out as usual.

Anything more interesting?
Well I guess it's a yes because there was this one day I finally encountered with a 'brilliantly' smelled stool called, Melena stool. I don't mean to be rude but I almost fainted that morning when carrying out perineal care with my colleague and my dear tutor. What's worse was, the patient can't stop passing motion because the night staff nurse gave him enema which I believed he was scheduled for colonoscope in the afternoon. :/

Other than that, I guess it was so far so good. The learning experience was awesome as we get to relate better with patient's condition, investigation, and also our responsibilities.

Some new conditions that I came across this semester include : Nasopharyngeal cancer, mitral stenosis, thalassemia, pantocytopenia, malathion poisoning, myeloid leukemia, sickle cell anemia, patient with Charcot foot, Noonan syndrome, acute myocardial infarction (Killip classification) , Meliodosis and many more.

Under ms. V's guidance I have learnt tremendous amount of lessons - about patients, patient's conditions, our nursing roles and also about life.

The one thing I must say that I have great respect for her is the professionalism in her when she's at work. She gave us a lot of motivational and constructive comments which helped us a lot in improving our skills, theories and also as a person. /very very grateful/

"There's a diamond in each of you right here *in your heart*. As you go forward, you'll get better each day. As you move forward, the diamond will be slowly polished and soon,
 you all will be shining"

..................... Moving on to another 5 weeks at surgical female ward,
I went with zero expectation and came out with countless of amazing experiences.

The ward was way more relaxing than medical ward, nonetheless.
I had many chances to carry out dressing for different types of wounds - fungating breast, bed sores, venous ulcer, pinsite, etc.
Sadly I didn't get the chance to carry out wound packing YET. Hopefully in the coming semesters I will be able to do that dressing :)

As our clinical assessment was approaching, we also took opportunities to practise health assessment as much as we can as a preparation for the coming exam.
Thank god, we all did fine on the actual day of exam (though I must say I was very nervous). Still, whether it was good or bad I am thankful for their overall comments. :)

I guess the highlight of my working experience in surgical ward was catching maggots from a wound, cleaning fungating breast (wound), giving enema to an elderly patient and also removing staples from a patient's surgical wound.
Removing staples wasn't really tough for me. As I tried to remove using the technique learnt, I comforted the patient at the same time, trying to ease the tension and nervousness. In the end I managed to remove at least 8 of the 30 staples, whereas the rest of the staples were removed by my fellow colleagues :)

I am sure you are intrigued when I mentioned catching MAGGOTS from a wound. Yes reader, you read that right.
I swear it was one of the most disgusting moments I've had but it was fun! lol #whatnoobysays Hahaha, out of nine big FAT maggots which love sloughy tissue so MUCH, I managed to catch 3 out of the 9 big FAT maggots. Not bad for a first timer huh, self achievement unlock! #whatnoobysays :B

On another note, I WISHED I had the chance to change colostomy bag for at least once but too bad I hardly get any. Just managed to observe my friend doing it :)

And for the last two weeks at surgical ward, we had our time to visit endoscopy rooms to observe colonoscopy, endoscopy, ERCP, and insertion of PEG tube! Didn't have the privilege to observe bronchoscopy though :(
The time spent at scope rooms wasn't as boring as the time I had at cardiac clinic, to be honest. At least, I get to see different type of images when the specialist was doing the job, haha. The best part was when the surgeon explained to us and probed our critical thinking by asking us questions.
It's something I will not forget. The humor, the experience, the 'first try', the interaction.. Thank you, Dr. M :)

All in all, I enjoyed my posting very much. I even felt reluctant to come back, can you believe it?? #whatnoobysays
Hahaha neway, I want to thank tutors, fellow classmates and medic students (friends) who are willing to guide/teach/discuss cases with me. It was fun learning from each other, hopefully we'll do the same for the rest of the semesters and during our working life of course :D

Hehehe, more exciting stories to come (I'll blog about it if I have the time)!
Thanks for reading, dear reader. Till then  :)

26 March 2014

What Happened in Sem One?

Pretty straight forward isn't it?
Here's what  :)

1)  I've spoken about orientations and if you noticed I've blogged more than nowadays back in THOSE good good days. Hahaha well if you wanna read again, here's link [1] and link [2].

2)  Basically January was a month which I called stressfully busy month because I had three class tests on two different days, and on one of the days itself, I went to sent my buddy off with another buddy at LCCT. Here's a picture of it :)

Coincidentally met Ah Thong and Ah Lai at the airport! (Most left and second from left)

Jan, I know I've said this, still wanna say it again : I love your shoes berry much heee :3

3)  Did participate in photography event for Foundation In Science orientation :D  Had loaddddds of fun with ze photogs as usual :D and street photography! (previous post :D )

4)  ALSO, I went for a meetup session with fellow seniors from NU112, NU111 and NU110 with only Karen and Hadiza. The rest (of my classmates) were not able to turn up due to some reasons.
That night was great! We had a so called sharing-bonding session by having some 'ice-breaking' and 'truth-or-dare' activities, lol. It was meaningful and I'm glad to have met them! <3

5)  Then at the end of the month of January, our Open Ward session officially started :B
It was better than I expected! I've learnt so much about the real 'interviewing' skills and also forming nursing diagnosis from various situations. A bundle of thanks to all the dedicated clinical tutors and lecturers who organised these activities. :))

6)  During the open ward session which was held for two weeks, I had my presentations (assessments) for Professionalism and Interpersonal Skills and Nursing Framework (subjects). I kind of presented well for the first one, but screwed up the latter one. To my surprise, I was praised for the slides I prepared for the second presentation and I was even told to send a copy of the slides I prepared. What I can say somemore, I'm just happy and thankful :)

7)  After CNY, the first EOS (end of semester) exam I took was Human Biology (subject). I was so scared because I didn't finish studying. Yes, I admit that fact. I was thinking, "If the exam is gonna be like the formative assessment uploaded online, I'm gonna cry, very very hard". However the paper wasn't as tough as I expected! 8D I was glad actually, and I prayed everyday that I could please at least get a B, lol.
Oh! I haven't not talked about class tests that I went through, have I? Okay first thing first. Psycho test was the worst (most ridiculous and difficult) , followed by Microbio. Socio was alright, I was perfectly confident that I can score for that paper.. ONLY. (lol) Biochem on the other hand wasn't very tough but the scoring part was a no joke thing. So all I did was doing my extremely best in my assignments to top up the marks, especially for Psychology.
Ah, let's just put the tests topic aside. I'll come back to the EOS exam later.

8)  Clinical posting!
I must say, I've learnt the most (things that I don't learn in uni) during these two weeks at Tung Shin Hospital :)) I've personally observed how endoscopy works, how bed sores and real, bad wounds look like, happy, friendly, sad, grumpy patients, how the staff nurses work together, how staff nurses and the doctor interacted with each other, and so much more!
Our objective for this semester was to enhance the communication (interviewing) skills with patients by carrying out assessment and history taking. I've personally talked to patients (of both gender) in English, Malay, Chinese, even Hokkien! (so proud of this, lol) From a beginner who's afraid of asking sensitive questions and awkward situations, I've now became a better communicator who now knows how to link one question to another. This is all thanks to my friends, and tutors who have guided me from day 1 til the last day of clinical posting :))

My grands senior, Christine once told me that, "The time when you can learn and have fun the most is during your clinical postings." I have to agree with that statement ;)
A big thank you to our dear clinical instructors once again, for constantly pushing yet encouraging us to do our very best in performing all tasks, and truth be told, it helps a lot in our clinical assessments! Overall, our lecturers commented that we've done a real good job (not sure whether it is true) but oh well we got praised for our continuous hard work :D

The most satisfying outcome I've got from this posting was to be able see patients recovering one by one and hear staff nurses said, this patient is discharged. :)) Some of them are really kind and willing to be interviewed by us multiple times. They also thoughtfully wished us best for our assessments and also our nursing journey. :>
I must admit that.. after so many sharing sessions with classmates and tutors, I started to like this profession and hopefully in years to come, my like will change to love.

Thanks to dear classmates for the wonderful start and may all of us do this together until semester 8! (finger cross and group hugs)

Being the usual grateful me, I will treasure this experience and trudge on. :)
See you all again next semester, dear clinical tutors!

9) Birthday celebrations!
First we celebrated Nargis's 19th on Jan :

and then Pauline's 21st on the month after:

Very glad that all the surprise went perfectly well! :'> Hope you love the video, Pauline! SURPRISEEE once again :D

10)  Study week began shortly after a month of practical session. It was hella stressful, needless to say. Went back to uni every day for tutorial sessions and also self-studies. I was happy that I completed most of the revision, but not good enough to re-revise again for the second time.

11) The week after was EOS (end of semester) Sociology presentation and exam. Presentation was absolutely great with my teammates, Pauline and Priscilla. Special thank you to Pauline for brushing up my presentation skills by keep tellling me 'you can do it, just do it!' and repeat that again and again. :D
No doubt speaking, that week was the killer, we were all nervous because we didn't know what it will come out and phew! 4 days of crazy days just passed like that, and I'd like to announce that, Biochem was the toughest paper among all. (claps claps claps)
Deep down, I was praying so hard that I could pass, lol.

12)  And there you go my sem break! EH WAIT no, not yet. I had MUET exam a day after my EOS exam grrrr. I hope I did well for listening and reading. Writing part was.... heh. Speaking was....... okay I guess :B Just hope that I'll score a band three. Band three is enough :B

13)  Jacuzzi outing with ze ladies!
Just the day I had my last paper, the day before MUET exam, Pauline and I went over to Shaf's house for a mini little party (jacuzzi session together-gether! hahaha)

We had lots of fun! Thank you Shaf for such a wonderful day at your house :D
In the meantime, we made a 'cover' (sort of), a lip-sync video for Counting Stars by One Republic! Hahahaha we definitely had a great time laughing and singing like crazehh. Nurses-tonix FTW!
Anyway, can't wait for the next lip-sync cover :P HEHE

14)  Initially we had plans to go to Penang during our sem break but due to the bad weather (haze, coughs) we cancelled the thoughts :( Ugh! Moving on, SO IN THE END, I just stay at home, rotting wonderfully. 10-12 hours of sleep daily, homecooked food, get to hug pillow from day til night - how relaxingly awesome is that? Hahaha - I know it is but it sounds so lifeless at the same time!

15) 19 MARCH 2014 : Results day.
The day I felt nothing but was busy with handmade gifts instead. Actually I felt something, just 5 minutes before 5 pm (the time when the results was released), I hyperventilated for a while. That's all. (lol)
I sounded confident huh! #macamyestapibukan I waited a few minutes, to calm myself down before I faced my results. Whether it was a P or F, lantak lah!

JENG JENG JENG.....
(opened ze envelope)

I'm just blessed! That's all I wanna say :')

16) Okay, ignore the drama. Back to reality. (muka serious)
Just 12 hours ago, a new timetable has already appeared on e-learning portal. (GREAT. I mean, FINALLY). Checked, looked through. One word -> sh*t. Early classes (as early as 8am) everyday, long hours of studies, one month (April) of crazy study follow by tests on May (every week.. good god :B ) and posting starts on June. (jaw drop immediately) I can see that semester two is gonna be so short and quick! So scary, so hectic, so challenging! :B

17) Aye aye, I'm not gonna have this kind of perfectly chillax-ing holidays like this again I guess. SO IMMA ENJOY IT TO THE FULLEST! SLEEP TO THE FULLEST, PLAY TO THE FULLEST, DO WHAT I LOVE TO DO TO THE FULLEST! Okay, caption unlock. Hahaha, I'm excited like that.

18) Anyway, it's point number eighteen already. Hehe thanks for even bother to read this post. And before I go, just wanna say, I've been listening to American Author's album 'Oh, What A Life!' for a week, go go listen too! It's super duper #oomph I gurantee :D

05 February 2014

Counting stars ;

Picture from ;

Weather has been shifting from breezy to sunny (with the increasing temperature) lately.
The sky, is nonetheless beautiful, especially at night. Up til' now, last night was the second time I spotted many stars twinkling, winking at its best at human beings on Earth :P I was excited to see such unusual sight after such a long time of cloudy-moody sky (I seriously couldn't recall when was the last time I saw this amount of stars), it's time for the sky to be completely clear from clouds and filled with moon and stars! :>

Wipe your laptop/desktop screen, they are not dust.
They are real stars! Le phone could only capture the brightest stars (of course this wasn't snapped in one shot, it's a collage of a few shots, merged into one ) Through my naked eyes, the stars on the bottom left (the one in a rectangle box) were the most sparkling, big, and best twinkling stars among all! However from your view, they look the same like the rest don't they?
Recorded (through observation) : 36 stars at home, 25 stars in front of the KTM. I found the Crux constellations!! :D /that excited face/
Reality : There are more stars, unseen, but still twinkling of course :)
The view of the night was even awesomer with planes passing by through the stars, making it looks like a bunch of meteors.

Too bad that my camera couldn't snap a photo of the stars at all unless I have a tripod -even resting it on a bench isn't good enough :(
But meh meh, that (the photo)'s the best my phone could snap.
Here's another achievement unlock - challenge phone camera's limitations in snapping starry sky :D
.....

If you noticed the blog title, I put "Counting Stars". Ever thought of asking why?

Haha nevermind, lemme tell you ;
Because it was what I did the moment I saw a clear sky with lots of  tiny lights winking at me /self laughs/
I'm sure the people at Kajang KTM bus stop were curious looking at me tilting and rotating my head while pointing and counting, then repeat again, lol. And once I got back home, after my dinner, I went to my garden, looked up and started counting again. XD

Sounds so childish right?
Idk why, it's just my favourite thing to do. Admiring the sky -no matter day or night, getting hyped up all about it and eventually I'll bring out my camera/phone to capture the moment I enjoy.
Well that's just me :)

And I just had my Human Bio exam yesterday afternoon, bro said
"You've tried your best. Take a break!"

That's the most rewarding advice I've ever heard from him! #woohoo
So that's what I did. Relaxed myself by doing silly things that I love, hehe.

Oh anyway, after some short hiatus from the hectic-ness of my life (everybody knows that), this is my official first blogpost of the year!
HAPPY 2014, peeeeeople!

(Hope I'm not too late to wish you all this, although the calendar is already at the second month of the year, heh)
As usual, NYR and MORE updates are gonna be in the next post.
Wonder what NYR is?

Stay

tuned!

30 December 2013

Dear Babi H,

As promised, this is a special blogpost for you.
A month ago, you were having your exam at a little place called 'Davangere', while I was busy having a community project at Ti-ratana houses, Sri Petaling and another community project for old folks (My Father's Home) at somewhere near the Curve in the evening. It has been a fruitful day for me, what about you?
I felt a pang of guilty for not making an official status/post for you during your birthday. But I didn't have the time to be in contact with dear internet that day, so I didn't manage to post anything special for you :(
Butbutbut I did wish you on whatsapp didn't I? :P Hehehehe

So HERE I am, after one solid month, I'm writing something about you, for you.

Here's a little description about this Babi H. Don't float ok. :P
SHE has been a friend of mine since 2011, still is my friend, my buddy even to be exact.
Been through up and down with her, she is the one who always keeps me a company, my one and only wise adviser when I was in need of help back in college times.
This babi, has 500% of confidence in herself. 500% of being what? Of being perasan.
Hahahahaha okay joke.
She has this aura of being really confident- of being a leader- of saying yes to impossibilities (I mean REAL impossibilities- she will still say YES. Sometimes, it's about the wrong fact- she will still say a fatty, shamelessly YES. lol Can't help with it, just have to keep nodding when she said YES. XD Hahaha

She gives people 'hope' in some way, don't ask me how.. she just did.
If you talk to her, she might not give you the best words you'd love to listen or to feel comforted, but what she said is always true, a reflection of reality and there's always a wise perception in every word she said.
She is a terribly good emotion controller. I don't know how she reacts/behave in front of other friends of hers, at least she appears to be that kind of person to me.. which is something I should learn from her. :)
Another point to note is that she's damn cheekily lovable (especially by a lot of guys) lololol. What I meant by that was, she's easily likeable by the opposite sex. :P
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that...
this babi is a loud person. Very often when I'm in uni by myself, laughing at something really funny, I will thought of her and miss the laughing moments with her back in those days at Tarc.
Other than that, she's a real good friend to me, whom I appreciate a lot. Like real damn a lot.
Cannot afford to miss someone like her in my life.
Okay, babi if you're reading this all these sound cheesy but they all come truthfully from my brain, lungs, heart and stomach ok.

.....
As a friend/buddy in return, I'm always the fail one when it comes to comforting. When she needs my advice, I always give the best words/thoughts I could thought of as I can but I know, most of the time, it didn't help to cheer her up at all. So fail, right.
So the least I could do is to always offer her my free ears. :)

Although I might not be one of the best person to lift your mood up when you're down, ALWAYS remember that I'm there to listen, to be there, to help if you need yeah! :))
And ALWAYS remember that I'm the most awesome, shamelessly fabulous babi of yours (forget about babi L kay) :P
Last but not least, I just wanna wish you publicly, here at my blog...

that
you
have
finally
grown
up (a year older) so
HAPPY belated 20TH BIRTHDAY BABI!!!!

Photo : Babi H back then.

Hehehehe.
I think that is NOT cute enough tho'.

This version of YOU
now is somehow cuter. :P

Hahahahahahahahah
Okay, I know you love me so don't kill me! BYELOVEYOULOTSBYE!

With love,
Babi K.

28 October 2013

What An Experience ;

It happened very quickly ; just like a dream to me.

I'll tell you what happened two weeks ago, on a Friday night, within 15 minutes at the LRT station and also in the train, involving four random strangers and me.

Aunty/me

Where are you travelling to?
Kajang. And what about you, aunty?
Ooh I was travelling to Johor and Malacca before this and now am going back to Cheras. So are you a student at IMU?
Yep /with that sheepish smile/

In the train.. I was sitting beside that lady I just spoken to, and three students from APU (Asia Pacific Uni) came along and sat opposite us.

Aunty/Me/John/William/Yi Shin

/being friendly/ *talked to the APU students*

/smile and laugh along/
/being friendly, lean forward/ Are you studying at IMU?
Yes :D /soft grins/

How's it like to study at IMU? What do you think of the fees?
/lol at heart/ To me, for my course, it's reasonable. As in for other course, it might be pricey..

Oh wow, I heard my friends said that the fees could reach half a million RINGGIT MALAYSIA! Isn't it?
Err not exactly, not all course cost half a million. Maybe certain courses do, (eg : twinning programmes) / medic programmes..
/nods and smiles/ Y'know we always talk about IMU in our uni.. Hahaha

Really??
Yeah, we always talk about IMU, wonder how is it like to study there, the fees and all.

Haha I see, which university are you guys from?
Us? APU University, it's at Bukit Jalil
That's cool. :D
Do you mind if I ask you a very weird question??
/gulp/ Sure, what is it?

Are you a Korean???
/LOL/ Hahaha what? I heard that a lot from my friends seriously.. which part of my face look like a Korean?
Well y'know when I look at her (Yi Shin), she's a Chinese, but when I look at you, you...are a Korean!
/laughs/

Haha, anyway no. I'm not from Korea, I'm a local Chinese :D And where are you from? You and you?
South America, Uganda (if I'm not mistaken), and I'm local.
I see :D Nice to meet you all! Where are you all heading to?
Oh we're heading to church at Pudu :)

Do you guys used to the lifestyle here?
Yes we do! Mamak, nasi lemak, everything-lah!
Hahaha, have you guys been to Penang or Malacca? :D
I forgot what they answered...

Y'know things here are like.. they add six hundred POUNDS of sugar in a drink

Yeah you need to tell them KURANG MANISSS
Oh yeah we do, always tell them 'KURANG MANISS' but..

The drink is still very sweet right?
/laughs/
(train was getting near to BTS station)

Hey, I'm leaving in another stop /ready to stand up/ it was nice talking to you all
Oh, we always hang out in front of IMU, having Char Siew Pau for dinner so do come and find us anytime ;)
Sure thing, thank you very much, bye guys! *waves

.............

It was warm, and nice to have talked to them eventhough they were like strangers to me just 15 minutes before the conversation started. I haven't got the chance to bump into them again (whether coincidentally or not) so far. Hope I can meet them at the 'Char Siew Pau' stall soon! :)

When John was asking me that question again and I was like... hmmmph, honestly speaking, how do Koreans look like? lol *google searches

14 October 2013

WAKE UP, SLEEPYHEAD

So are you excited for your first class?
(insert hyperactive smiley here)

Truth be told, I felt half excited-half not. Guess it's just neutral?
First few classes were pretty okay, Mr. Alexius Chang's lesson on Introduction to Psychology was INTERESTING /fangirl face/, oh well partly because it is my favourite-dream subject to study -ah yes just a heads up, I'm taking Psychology subject this semester not because I want so much but I HAVE TO. It's a good news for mehh hehe /fangirl face again/

I remember very clearly that classes on Tuesday was EPICLY boring, as the whole day was filled with lectures continuously with a long break in between and then continued with MORE lectures. :B Then I had my first not-so-well-prepared-presentation ever after so many months of not touching microsoft power point. It was about history of nursing ; touching on Florence Nightingale (if you're interested on who on earth is that, you can just google it) and also different religious approach in that field. I was doing the latter topic while Pris did the first one. It horrified me a few minutes before the presentation that.. I actually misinterpreted the topic and did "How does religion play a role in the development of nursing?". Pffts pffts pffts.

Feeling extremely crappy, I apologised to Ms. L for did it wrongly. Thankfully for her kind-hearted-ness, I was forgiven and was allowed to present what I had prepared. :D

Blablabla and then Ms. L evaluated all our 10-minute-performances. To my SURPRISE, Ms. L actually complimented my group for giving extra details and said it was well done that one of the group members did apologise for mistakes made, etc etc (I think she was talking about me coughs). I was expecting more harsh comments regarding on speaking, providing more relevant details but meh she was really nice and gave us a lot of encouraging words! Haha, I've learnt my lesson and grateful enough for what she said that day. :)
And THEN I had one of the longest break ever THAT week because Ms. SWT was absent, so two classes with her were cancelled and will be REPLACED some other day. /sob sob/

Moving on, I'd like to speak about a very serious issue (serious mode on) regarding on falling asleep in class. Idk why and since when that I actually feel extremely sleepy whenever I'm in class, good god why I was almost asleep in nearly every single class that I attended UGHHHH FML. I was caught red-handed (almost) closing my eyes like a panda having not enough sleep and then BOOM, during Sociology class, Ms. P asked,

"Hey, are you okay? Do you need some stretching/standing maybe?" (with that understanding look)

Feeling embarassed, and immediately I was awake for the rest of her class, lol. Hahaha.
One, I admit, the 'couches' on the auditorium are too comfy, even my friends said it's impossible to not fall asleep under such a comfortable environment :P
Second, is when the lecturer speaks at a monotonous voice or bullet-train-no-pauses tone... gah, can you imagine?

Imagine me doing like this, trying hard not to fall asleep for REAL.
(I wonder how the lecturers thought if they saw me with that face, lol) *hides my face*

Ahh man, this cannot happen anymore tomorrow and the days after tomorrow! Pretty shitty embarassing whenever I think about it :B
ANYWAY, throwing that topic aside,

I
FINALLY
GOT
MY
STUDENT I.D.!!!!

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy not.

Hahaha cuz' the photo was not pleasant-looking meh :< A couple of guys said, "Eh, okay what!". Haha yeh it looks alright, maybe not up to my expectation maybe? Y'know, girls just being girls -not satisfy with whatever photo on IC/passport/student ID being taken :P Hahaha, actually it does looks fine lah just that when I have gotten and looked at my student I.D., the first thing I noticed was my eyebags, lol. That's why I dislikedislikedislike it, well to not comment further, it's gonna last for goddamn four donkey years. So yeah pk, just BEAR WITH IT.

Ending the post with a few o.o.t.d. (outfit of the day) vain photos on Thursday, catch up with y'all soon :)

P/S : I miss my straight bangs! D:

06 October 2013

O-rie-o-n-ta-ti-on (Part One) ;

First day :
Reached uni at about 7.30am, was supposed to reach 15 minutes earlier but there was a mini jam at Sg.Besi toll highway. Waited for the ladies to walk from their vista B since I was way earlier than themmm :P While doing that, I saw my own reflection. Looking straight at the reflection, I'm kinda proud to see myself  *adjusted collar*  in that formal attire with that pretty, comfy flats and my lovely backpack, not to mention my well-behaved curly hair *coughs self praising coughs* It's okay to be vain sometimes :P Hahaahahaha anyway, collection of labcoats started at 8 sharp, which then followed by briefings from the Head of Schools, etc. Made friends with new friends from different programmes that I'm studying ; mostly students from B.Pharmacy (BPharm), mind you.

Had my second breakfast at about 10 something, just a very light breakfast tho. (I didn't expect to skip lunch later on so I kind of regretted of not eating more that time :/)
And then there's this break, which means ROTTING SESSION began! Went to explore the library abit, and then sat down with my classmates at the student discussion area. Oh! Speaking about my classmates, there are eight of us in September intake, adding uo nine of them from July intake so total up will be seventeen of us :D

Just when the rotting session was over, we had this 'Lighting Ceremony' with our senior from NU1/12 :)) and all lecturers, including the head of school and head of division at a small room. We had out pledges said after that, and off we blew the candle, representing that the ceremony was over. :) It was a very meaningful event to all of us, for those who are going to start, and those who already have started. Not long after that, we sort of like had this mini ice-breaking session between the lecturers, seniors and us- the juniors :D Oh well, we were asked whether was this course (that we're going to study) was our first choice, if no -why not and so ; I wanted to share my reasons but too bad that I didn't get the chance. But well, I guess I'll share it with my junior next year, hopefully will liking this journey after I started it :))

Meanwhile, I and Pauline (my new friend who has really good knowledge in Nursing) have a mentor (senior from NU1/12), named Monica, who is actually an Indonesian! Seriously speaking, she doesn't look like she's from Indonesia, but more like a Malaysian Chinese to me! Hahaha, I'm just very grateful :)

Another few briefings were held at the auditorium hall, bla bla bla. At about 4.30pm, seniors took over the activity by introducing themselves to us, welcoming us by lots of cheers, dance and nice videos. :) I must say, the creativity and video editing skills are pretty good! Hahaha friends were all distributed to different groups from me, I'm in the 13th group named BEE, just fyi. lmao
Bzzzzbzzzzzbzzzzzz

Joke of the day : Are you a Korean??? , asked by a friend from my group of orientation.
I lol-ed at that once again.

Things are getting tougher and life is getting more competitive!

...
Day two until day five in.. general ;

Second day was filled with briefing and MORE briefing, pfffts. The only 'interesting' briefing on that day was Personal Safety briefing where it was divided into two sessions, the first session was a talk based on videos and slideshow regarding on the crime rates, prevention, etc. Here comes the interesting part, where Mr. Wong, master in Tae Kwan Do, was invited to teach us some punch-kick lesson if we happened to meet any intruders/attackers in the near future. It was fun and really wake me up from my sleepy world. Haha now I know how to kick/punch -using muhh elbow, palm and leg. HA! *wong fei hung style

And just to be honest, idk what was wrong with me that I couldn't resist to yawn in almost every briefing. *soft sigh* How I wish someone could have just slapped me or something but I think they thought that I was just.. y'know.. stretching myself whenever my head swung forward suddenly. LOL
Funny.

In between the general briefings about library and ICT, I had a few classes with my own lecturer, Ms. Siew about the course content, the rules, the stressful-no-joke future life that is coming soon.. *inhale, exhale
ANYWAY, let's just study smart-ly and hardworking-ly and at the same time, play hard. (Hahaha, such English). On Thursday, I had my lab briefing, was being introduced again to those very familiar lab apparatus, as well as very strange machines/apparatus which I've not seen before back in high school/college. Other than explaining their functions and what they are, we also went for a short tour to all the labs around the campuses. Pretty cool, I must say :]

On a negative note, I just got to know that the IELTS that I took months ago are no longer valid as the English requirement at uni and I am required to register for MUET. =_=
Yes. M.U.E.T. =__=   whatthehellahundredtimes. Gahhhhgrrrrrrrr, I'll just put that aside, troublesome or not, I have to register no matter what. Sigh.

So far, everything (I mean briefing) was alright, some was quite boring, but yeah some was pretty important and informative. I think you guys must be wondering why didn't I mention anything about my "Bee" group that I was assigned in right? Hahaha, be patient yaw, all the details are gonna be revealed in the next blogpost. :)
And time really speeds like a rocket. It's Sunday already and classes OFFICIALLY start tomorrow! D:
Yeh, it's time to warm up the little brain of mine again.
Hee, let's rock the rest of the university life stress-joy-wonder-fully!!

And and andddddddddddddddddddd,

just to make myself clear once again,
to those who kept on asking me,

"HEY! *shaking my shoulder* Are you from Korea??"
"Are you a Korean? (with that look)"
"Hey, are you local?"

ETC,

Thank you for the you-look-like-a-Korean comments, I'm very flattered, thank you. But no, I'm 100% 500% Malaysian! :D Hehe, I still don't get why people kept telling me that I either look like a Taiwanese, pure Chinese from China or.. Koreans. Hahaha, it was hilarious tho to receive at least 6 similar questions within 4 days.

:))

29 September 2013

I'm not lazy, I'm just taking things slowly

It seems~

Hahaha to be frankly honest, I've lots of things to tell, lots of things to update but I don't know when I should! The moment I wanna blog or I should say have the 'MOOD' to blog, the time shows it's 2am or later. Pffffft (look it's 1.29am now haha)
I was obviously ON CLOUD NINE since 23rd of September because le master at home went to his wife's hometown on that day itself. Teehee I was actually expecting some outings with friends but for god's sake, looking at my current personal-saving-home-account is rather saddening. I am on extremely tight budget, even money spent on my recent haircut was a pain in my heart :'(

So let's see.. (what did I do before and after 16 September eh?)
Trolol okay, I remember now. I had multiple outings with family at Ampang and Midvalley. Although I'd say, it was a 'ladies' day -doing the shopping, gossiping kind of thing but it was fun :D Spending time with Ong family is always fun!

On one Wednesday night, sister brought me to Connaught Night Market (Cheras) to buy my future-uni-bag-to-filled-with-books-or-whatever-that-is-necessary because my leather bag is unfortunately spoilt :( Thank goodness I spot a new brown BACKPACK (I don't really like sling/hand bags), a little bit trendy, with lots of pockets - I have to but no choice to pick that with a pride face. Hahaha

Connaught Night Market is famous with snatch thefts and sea of people, mind you. Imagine you have to squeeze your way out when you're done with purchasing things you want.. with all the sweats, body touching, breatheless air.... thankfully we came out alive man.
(Note : Do not go after 8pm. You'll have the best time suffocating. I mean no kidding right.)

In the meantime, the youngest son of Papa's best friend from the Stone Association Malaysia got married last two weeks. It was pleasant to meet up with them again, though I did not chit-chatting (was listening instead) all the time, I'm glad to be called "Khim khimmmmm" once again. That's how they adressed me when I was young. It wasssss lovely! <3
And thennnnnn 5 days after the Malaysia day, it was Mum's 57th birthday! Celebrated with her at town's Pizza Hut, snapped plenty of photos ; she was happy I suppose :')

Whereas during mid-autumn festival this year, I made myself two DIY lanterns.

Nothing much just a  simple celebration without sister around this year. :)

And MOREEEEEEE DIY sessions coming after that.
For example : Nail art.
Hahaha I think it was too embarassing to be shown here, I think I bought the wrong top coat, hence it looks quite ugly. I'll just explain yeah? Urmm first off, I've two nail polishes ; skin colour and hot pink colour- both were given by my dear senior, Sherene (thank you very much :3).
I used the skin colour as the base coat and then make a lot of dots using the hot pink colour on the surfaces of the skin colour coat. Now you get the picture of polka dotted nails right? Okay. That's all.
Basically it looks like my nails got some kind of poxes due to the irregular dots HAHAHA even Jan said it looks cacat :P Well it's okay tho, I'm gonna get better at this the next time I try it! :D

Next DIY project : Notice board.
By using polystyrene, sugar paper, paper cutter, thumbtacks, tack-it and cellophane tape. Thennnnnn, use your imagination. Lol

Last but not least, I had a haircut!

Wanted to straighten the fringe, cut shorter bangs but due to the tight budget, I went for treatment, cut shorter hair instead :( Gah welcome again, curly-long-time-no-meet-bangs. Really gonna master blowing-hair skills now, if not le front hair will appear very messy and untidy -something I really hate because it does not gives people a good impression -.-

Anyhoo, what do you think? :D I did not regret actually, at least it is something new! Haha some said the fringe looks tad more natural, some said I look like a married woman (LOL at this.) - he meant matured in another way, some said nice, some said bla bla bla. Any thoughts and mind to share?

Anddddddd I really gotta go cuz' it's late now and I am supposed to sleep so till then and BYE.

<3

21 January 2013

Mixed hi ;

Hi?

I'm alive. So much alive. Guess what it's the twenty first of January two thousand and thirteen. January's gonna end in another 10 more days and I'm getting my results tomorrow. Heh. That's my whole point, isn't it?

Well, well life. What have I been doing?
Not much actually. Just chores.sleep.morningjog.universityresearch.photoupload.read.clean.meetupwithhighschoolfriends.happinessprojects.relaxinglife.

Yeah, as you can see, nothing big there just very minimal things that people do.
FYI, I've been sort of like grounded to be at home, which explains the reason I couldn't hangout much with friends, and it's a way of saving money, y'know.

Oh wait, I haven't tell you guys about my working days, experience and life! ComingsoonIpromise. ComingsoonIpromise. :D

By the way, I- the owner of this blog, salute those who actually scrolled, and read every single words that I typed here about my bittersweet happenings in 2012. I from the bottom of my heart thank YOU. :)
Speaking of blogging, it's the second post of the new year -2013. Pardon my lack of enthusiasm in the previous post, I have a lot to stories in mind to blog it out here but I.. never actually find a proper time, sitting like how I'm doing right now, blogging my hearts out about my rants and most of it is my thoughts. Partly because, I spent most time doing research instead of carrying out too much relaxing activities. Ughh the pressure. Only the closed ones will understand why I mentioned pressure.

Every year, I'll create a resolution list for self to accomplish, but looking back at what I did in 2012.. maybe I failed to be/do what I planned but in another way, I might have become a better person in another perspective that I did not intentionally plan. That's good, isn't it? :)

As we are growing up, (MENTALLY), I think resolutions don't always have to be early of the year, it could be the starting of the week, early of the month, or perhaps early of the day - as early as you wake up from sleep. :) Resolutions of the year could mean, things that you wish to accomplish in long term, hopefully you'll see yourself improve or achieve things that you want to do but I'd say, if you have the time to do it right now, do it. Don't waste too much time wasting too much opportunities out there, maybe you can achieve something bigger or perhaps gain more experience in life that you - yourself don't expect or imagine!
That's what I learnt and it's crucial, y'know. Every second counts now! Even reading this piece of article. :P

I guess this applies/is the same as appreciating people around you. Life is short, yes it's true. We don't know what might happened to us in the next few seconds. War, riots, disasters, diseasesinstant death out of no reasons.. - I learnt to be more appreciative as a person, a more loving girl who tends to spread love to people, in the form of words or actions. I don't know how to describe, it's like..that immediate happiness you get to whenever you -cheer people up -make their day better -make them smile. It's just feels nice to be a person who is able to change one person, but well what more to inspire them. And.. I believe in karma. What goes around definitely comes around. How people treat me is how I treat back to them.

My principle always goes like this ;
1) If you're being good/kind to me, I'll be extra/even more kind to you. More than you can imagine.
2) If you're being bad to me, I'll not do the same. I believe one day, karma will help me do the rest. :)

So be nice to every people you meet.
As the saying goes, "Treat people how you want people to treat you back."

Ahhh wait. How come I'm talking about this? *pat self
Hahahaha.
I don't wish to post any self-resolutions here, as in those I-wish-I-can-be-more-this-and-that-etc-kind-of-list, I think it should be better if I keep that to myself. :)
What I personally wish to accomplish by this year is to master some skills. :P Well here's what

  • Driving.
Damn. This. has been. one. of. my. heh.notgoingtorevealhere. since the last day I drove. Oh well.
  • Cooking and baking.
THIS. I've left my passion in cooking since last year's college break? Hahaha. Gonna catch up and find back the passion one day and MASTER it. :P
  • Make up.
THIS. Hehehe. Well it's part of life that a girl should know, isn't it? I shalln't further eleborate about this. Kbai.
  • Dancing/Physical exercise?
This is crazy, I mean. Dance, PK? Hell you must be crazy. But this is part of my wish-to-do this year if I mean IF I get to go for any dancing class in university later? Idk, it's just part of my plans and... hehehe. :D
  • Eye contact.
HA THIS. When I get supersuperSUPER shy, I'll lose my eye contact with someone. I'll look at somewhere else instead to hide my pinkrosycheeks or perhaps any embarassment/mistakes that I made. Eeek. (")(") But well, I'll need to learn, to have a thicker skin, act cool and blehh better eye-contact la what else. (")(")
  • Photography.
A definite category that I must mention. I improved so much since last year and I'm going to make myself even better in this field. :)
  • Housework/chores.
Ridiculous, I know. C'mon, what the hell skills you need in this? Well, what I meant is to carry out the chores as fast as I can in a short time. And being called as professional in house chores is such a pleasure y'know. HAHAHAHA. Such pk.
  • Read.
Recently, I've gained back my long lost reading habit and HELL YEAH. I like it! (uh-huh-uh-huh) :D Gonna read as much as possible, and gonna train my speed reading. Made some goals for myself actually. 10 books in a year. Possible? More than possible right? I think I should increase the number of books I should read.. .. .... hmmmmm. *figures
  • Money management.
Oh this. I've been spent too much back at college. :( So I must control my expenditure this time, spend very very very wisely. Before I purchase any worthy items, I better check the price tag first, think a thousand million times before I hand my cash to the cashier. Hukhukhuk. :'( I wish I am rich. *ungrateful cries*
  • Volunteer.
It is always a pleasure, to contribute to the society, to be able to help people around you. Yes, I wish and I hope I can volunteer more this year. :)

Of course, above all this, I wish I can be a better person -more disciplined, more hardworking, more systematic, more wise and blablabla. Hahaha, like I said, it's better for my ownself to know where my limits are and if possible, I want to go beyond that. :)

It's time for dinner.
I shall... urm go?

BYE PEEPS I LOVE Y'ALL MWAHHHH. *throws kisses

Errr Happy belated 2013?

You gotta be good good good! :)
