"So, how are you?"

"I'm busily good. As you can tell by my absence here, you know how busy I am coping with the new semester. Let me tell you some of what I've done for the past three weeks in a list ;
  • I attended as a 'photographer' (not a main, just a learner) to IMU Ball 2014 at Royale Chulan, BB, K.L.
  • I have learnt a lot of new things (compared to sem one ). So many procedures to know and master, and subjects like Pharmaco and Patho are scary yet so interesting!
  • Hmmmm what else? Oh. Did I tell you that my timetable for this semester is shitty packed like everyday class starts at 8 and ends at 5 or 6 with only 45 minutes of lunch break in between? :O It's tiring, of course. But looks like I'm getting used to it so yeah. No more rants for now!
  • Speaking of morning classes, I've been late to classes for 6 times already :( SIGHSTUPIDKTMSIGH.
  • And when I mention about KTM, I didn't know the early morning train is that bad. I'll blog about it if it hits my boiling point again.
  • On a happy note, I'm finally a part of Infinity Milers :D
  • On another happy note, I got my first stethoscope! (check the photo at instagram if you haven't) :D
And current classmates count : 10.

That's all about my current life I guess. Busy-hectic-crazy-tiring-stressful. Ughh, I KNOW I CAN DO THIS. Just have to manage my time well between studies and non-studies-activities.

Lemme ask you back, how are YOU doing? :) "

P/S : Blog's playlist is updated! :D

  1. Hi! Don't know if you're still active, but I came across your photography and I love your work! On a different note, I saw that you're doing nursing at IMU, and I'm wondering is it any good? Would you recommend it? Thanks!

    1. Hi! :))
I'm not that active in blogging nowadays due to exam but I do check my blog from time to time. And thank youuu for the kind words, I appreciate that a lot :D

Well, before I proceed talking about nursing, are you interested in this course and the job scope of this profession? :)
Before you say yes/no, you must understand what is nursing all about - what nurses do everyday, etc.

I'd recommend you to this field if you have passion and determination for it. You'll have a great outcome when you have these as you go along :))

On another note, IMU is good for this course. I couldn't ask for a better uni! :)

Thanks for dropping by, by the way! I'm sorry for the late reply, hopefully you'll be notified of this reply via e-mail. If you feel like asking me more about it, feel free to PM me at facebook or send me an e-mail at peikhim_210@hotmail.com or you can just reply here, and I'll reply you as soon as I can :)

      Alright then, cheers! :D

    2. Hi, same anon here :)

It's alright if you can't reply ASAP, I'm pretty happy that you'll reply to me at all! Well,I'd like to go into nursing as I want to be involved in health care and I like more patient interaction, as opposed to being a doctor or pharmacist...
I'm doing pre-u at the moment and shifting my options around, but nursing is calling out to me...
I've been told that these days a diploma in nursing goes nowhere, but degrees for nursing seem quite limited in Malaysia...anyway, I've been reading up on IMU and aside from all the entry reqs, course structure and fees, it's quite difficult to find out anything else concerning the programme...wondering if you could fill me in about the content, clinical practice and stuff? Thanks so much, Pei Khim!(can I call you that?)

    3. Hey! :))

Yes, absolutely. You can call me that or Khim in short :)

Well, in my opinion.. it's not exactly true that diploma in nursing goes to nowhere. It depends on how you think about it and which level of education you're in now. :)

Getting into diploma especially after SPM definitely saves a lot of time as compared to wasting a few years studying pre-U and if you're taking diploma, you will be exposed to clinical area at a younger age. Plus, you will get to develop all your clinical skills earlier than student nurses who studies degree in nursing. After diploma (usually), these students may want to work for a few years first before proceeding to upgrade themselves into a higher rank by getting a degree.
(eg : another 2 years of short nursing course).
Well just to let you know that In IMU, there's such short course and it's called Nursing Science. :)

On the other hand, if you're like me (I took A-level before this), doesn't matter you're taking STPM or Foundation in Science, Canadian Pre-U and so on, degree is the pathway for you. :) Don't go back to diploma in Nursing anymore. The time will be double and perhaps triple wasted.
Just head to degree straight away, I'd say.

Yes, you're right. There's a very limited choice when it comes to choosing uni that offers a degree in Nursing.
Just to tell you a little bit what I have experienced here at IMU. Everyday you'll be having classes [as early as 8am in the morning, and sometimes until as late as 6pm] with a few hours of break in between. However, it only applies to certain days, and bear in mind that timetable will be packed in the beginning of the semester, and slowly as days pass, it'll be fine :)
Although like I said, it's gonna be really packed, you'll get used to it eventually. So don't worry too much about that.
For the first few semesters, you'll be taught about basic sciences, communication skills, procedures and things that you're gonna do as nurses. As you move on, you'll be learning more on specialisation in nursing (for example : Commmunity Health, Mental Health, etc).

There will be projects, assignments, presentations, class tests, end of semester examinations and also OSCE (sem 2 onwards) which will determine your overall grade and CGPA each semester.

For clinical postings, you'll be posted to somewhere (for example Hospital Tung Shin or HTJ, Seremban) WITH a/a few clinical tutor/s who will be there to guide you before study week and end of semester examinations EACH semester. So basically you're going to apply what you've learnt in classes/lectures at health institution that you're going to be posted. :)

If you want to know more and have a look at IMU Bukit Jalil campus, the facilities, library, lecture halls, etc.. there will be an Open Day on this coming 1st of June, from 10.00 am- 4.00 pm! :)) You can bring your parents along!
I hope I have answered most of your questions. Thanks again for dropping by :D

      Good day to you!
