the celebration continued by the talks by a very old man, Tuk Itam. he's a man who gone through ups and downs under the British, Japan and he even suffered during the darurat period. He's 82 years old this year, and he's a bilal [who laungkan azan] for 41 years. A tough man who is still alive, was here to tell us his story =)
well , i do not exactly remembered what he said. but i noted them down [not all ] and telling you here :D
so here goes.
Teacher: [wished him and started to ask him questions] Tuk, can u actually tell us how you gone through your life under the japanese?
Tuk Itam: Tough, very tough..... Everyday have to sing "Kimi-Gayo" a national entem for the japanese [ he actually sang and demonstrated :D] The Japanese usually will slap and step the chinese. [ u knw why, if u don't , go see f3 sej txt book] Japanese's good is they are not selfish in giving knowledge.
Teacher : [ahh, we see..] so can u explain to us how's the situation during the darurat period?
Tuk Itam: We were only alllowed to come out for only an hour, which is from 5pm-6pm. that was difficult.
Teacher : Dear Tuk, can you compare the education now and the past?
Tuk Itam : wow, it is a big difference. My time only got three teacher taught me.We must tell a pantun to teacher just before we go back. Teacher inspired me, teacher gave us knowledge, teacher made me a better person and teacher is the person who educate me.therefore, you all have to be grateful, appreciate your teachers and peoples around. we go to school wearing shorts only, u knw. And there's no school on saturday, and during fasting season. [everyone was like "woahhhhhhhhhh....*cool* " ]
Teacher : Tuk, what subject did u learn in your school and what's your hobby?
Tuk Itam : ahh, i learnt to " baca buku " , "buat kira-kira" , "buat congak " , then rest awhile , later on " sejarah" ," agama", and 15 minutes before going back home, we learn "anyaman". and my hobby is to read newspaper. i used to buy newspaper on sunday and read, it's very pleasant. :). it costed me 3 cents. Everyday, 1 cent is enough for a day. 2 boxes of matches are only 1 cent. a pair of shoes is 35 cents. while a bowl of mee with an egg is 5cents. [everyone was woooooooooow, again! haha! ]
Teacher : Okay, Tuk. What's the difference between the merdeka celebration today and the first year of merdeka?
Tuk Itam : In the past, it was really crowded and nice but not as modern [canggih] as today.
[he showed the money and other collection of his that is still as good as new] he also show..
THIS! yes this is a plant which was used to make petrol for aeroplanes
then the interview/talk ended and we cheered for his experience and he's cool :) like what pn zuridah said, " semoga beliau panjang umur" long live, pakk!
not much pictures taken today. cause it was quite boring, but not as boring as last years, at the very least, this year had some fresh activity.

PS: the ending was not cool, no singing any patriotic song except "Negaraku". oh, this is sooooo not nice. and btw, what's the point we bringing flags? hmm. good day !
